A Pro isnt what they think it is

 You see folks on various social media talking about what is "Pro" and various goofy things that make one a Pro or not.  

But let's stop that right here, right now.  

A Pro isn't about technique or skills or what tools you use.

When it comes down to it, a Pro is someone who takes the approach of making sure the end result is what was the stated goal was.

That we make the effort to achieve the desired result we are being paid to achieve. 

Because for a Pro, "Good enough" is not good enough.  

Technique, skills, methods, tools, these all change over time.  People change in how they do things.  Physically,  mentally, emotionally.   But, if they are of the mind to work to the goal, they can adapt.  Learn different skills, use different tools, apply different techniques.  But the point is no matter what of those you use, you are making the effort to meet the goal.

That's what a Pro is.

Toolbox Talk: An update review of the Worx 4 volt powered screwdriver

I love this tool.  This is far and away one of the most used tools I have.  Of course, given that 50 to 60 percent of my work is furniture and outdoors items assembly,  the number of screws and bolts I have to turn is astronomical.  I did a not-so-brief video introduction chat on it awhile back.  You can see that here. This tool alone has kept me from dying of carpal tunnel.  It has the 3 torque level settings.  Low, Medium, and High.  Don't get excited.  "High" torque means you can put a one inch wood screw into a piece of wood in a pilot hole without too much trouble.  This is NOT a drill/driver or impact driver by ANY stretch of the imagination.  It has in my opinion, as someone who uses it day in and day out for hours at a stretch, a good battery life.  Great even.  If you stay in torque level 1 or mix it up with level 2 from time to time, you'll have it last a good long while.  By that I mean 4 hours nearly constantly.   That's my use

A clamp trick with bench dog holes

 So there you are.  You have a worktable or bench that has plenty of 3/4 inch holes for bench dogs. Bench dogs are great.  They keep things blocked in and provide support or resistance when you need to push on a tool or piece of material. Bench dogs are a great support. Bench dog holes are usually about 3/4th inch diameter and usually form a complete grid on a worktable or section of a table.  This makes using bench dogs able to support a wide variety of shapes and sizes of materials while you work on them. A bench dog hole is usually 3/4" and goes all the way through. But sometimes you need more than a brace or support for your material.  Sometimes you need a clamp.  Now, you can buy horizontal clamps that fit into bench dog holes.  If you got the money anyway because these are not the least expensive things you'll find. But, you still want a clamp that can be used inside the space of the table and not just at the edges.  I have a trick that works great and is much less expen
